Fluxedo is a mobile app to create, share and manage tasks within your social circles, by creating groups of tasks (flows) and assigning them to your friends or colleagues, while monitoring the progress. Save time, increase productivity, engage!
People consume hundreds of hours every year to organise simple and recurrent activities such as office meetings, events, sport activities, fairs and travels. Time and energy (among other resources) are consumed making phone calls, arrangements, deciding dates and timing, with uncounted loops in the process. Fluxedo aims at reducing the time and energy consumption needed to organise such activities. For professional organisation, this also means reducing the printed documents and papers currently used during the planning phases. Furthermore, more productive engagement mechanisms improve the way people get engaged in educational and civic activities.
Fluxedo is a mobile and web application that allows you to easily create activities and group of tasks (flow), assign each tasks to one or more of your contacts and allows integrating existing online services (such as blogs, content sharing platforms, ticketing and so on). It supports invitation through social networks, setting of reminders and notifications for the tasks and monitoring of the progress of the work flow. The CHEST Idea award will allow development and testing of the prototype (already ongoing), integrate a large amount of services and create a first repository (flow library) for users to download, modify, share and vote flows created by other users. We will also be able to customise the design of the app in line with modern user experience design practices.
Target group and social impact
The target of Fluxedo includes any people who need to organise activities: meetings, group works, social gathering, sport events. Virtually everyone can benefit by the use of Fluxedo. The groups who will benefit the most will be people working in organizations, which plan meetings and group works frequently; as well as non-profit and charity organizations which need to create fund-raising events and social activities; and groups of acquaintances with common goals, such as event organizers, students, non-professional sport players and many others.
